Cultural HistoryThe Maasai tribe is one of the most renowned African tribes. Although the tribe is made of just a small population, it is still one of the biggest attractions in Africa. The Maasai are found in Kenya, but there are also many living in Tanzania around the Ngorongoro crater. Tanzania is home to the Olduvai Gorge, or Oldupai Gorge, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world; it has proven invaluable in furthering understanding of early human evolution. A stop over for the day to view the Gorge and museum is a must.
